Guards at QuickMart supermarket Speak Out over Unclear Employment Terms, Forced Deductions and Poor Working Conditions

With each passing day, the walls of silence surrounding the mistreatment of workers at QuickMart seem to close in tighter, leaving them trapped in a cycle of exploitation and suffocating any hope for change.

From overworked drivers facing long hours and poor pay to unaddressed allegations of harassment and abuse within various departments, we have been covering and exposing the toxic work culture at QuickMart but still workers continue to endure excessive salary deductions for services not rendered, such as retirement and uniform funds, without any transparency or benefits in return.

Unfair transfers, nepotism and favouritism have created a divisive and demoralizing environment where employees fear retribution for speaking up.

On top of that, unpaid overtime, forced shifts, and denial of annual leave during peak periods have added to the growing list of illegal labour practices.

Meanwhile, QuickMart’s damage control measures are seen as nothing more than a distraction from the serious issues at hand. Shocking reports of discriminatory practices, unsanitary work environments and fraudulent dealings by outsourced agencies like PEMAWA and Specific Security continue to fuel the systemic abuse of workers.

The latest complaint involves guards at Impetus Security Ltd, contracted under QuickMart, who are reportedly being forced to sign retirement benefit forms while being subjected to excessive deductions and poor working conditions.

Despite their efforts, these workers are left in the dark about their pay and benefits, with no clarity on where their money is going.

As these ongoing issues remain unchecked, workers are questioning how much longer they can endure such treatment, wondering if their voices will ever be heard with management continuing to turn a blind eye.
