Trouble is brewing at a Nairobi based recruitment agency firm Bluewave International Services Limited that has been blamed for scamming an orphaned woman of Ksh 110,000 by pretending that the firm was in a position to send her to Turkey for a job placement.
Beatrice Wangui says on April 23, 2024 , she paid the money to one Stephen Karanja who has admitted that he was an agent of Bluewave International Services that operates from the 5th floor of Lyric House along Kimathi Street , Nairobi.
Bluewave International Services Limited is owned by Amos Kabugua who is the managing director and Michael Karanja who is listed as the director and Head of Operations.
Mr Amos Kabugua was quoted by Kameme Fm as saying that he knows Mr Karanja who collected the money on behalf of Bluewave International Services Limited but maintained that he has since parted ways with him.

”
”I know Stephen and i am aware of the issues raised on, but he ceased to be my agent and we are no longer business associates. The money which is being contested was not deposited into our company account but to his mobile phone number,” Mr Mbugua told a Kameme Fm reporter when reached out for a right of reply
But even with this, Beatrice says Mr Mbugua is lying that he doesn’t know Mr Karanja, given he has visited his offices many times.
”I was taken to Bluewave International Services Limited by Stephen Karanja and i met Amos Kabugua and his co partner Michael Karanja who unanimously told me to pay Mr Stephen Karanja .Amos Kabugua personally told me to leave back my passport which the two have withheld since then and they have refused to hand back. I can’t travel even for medical reasons,” Ms Beatrice Wangechi is quoted by Kameme Fm as saying.
She further claims that Bluewave International Services Limited has manipulated mainstream media and have refused to air her story and has resulted to going online .

On its website, Bluewave International Services Limited boasts of job and study openings in Qatar, Poland, Canada,Finland and United Kingdom but there is no evidence that there are private recruitment agencies taking job seekers to USA.
